We traveled with Nalro tours in August 2014. The holiday was absolutely amazing. It was great to travel around Sri Lanka for a week with a driver (Lakshman) who knew loads about the country. We were able to see almost all the things that we planned on seeing plus the extra surprises which aren't well known but really made the trip even more special. The driver gave us our space when we needed it while at the same time he was there for us whenever we needed him. It was great that we didn't have to worry about organizing anything at all and were able to have one person throughout the whole trip who we can rely on, become fiends with and learn from about Srilanka, its history, its culture and its people.
That was honestly the best holiday we've ever had and we hope to come back soon.
I just have one more addition. I saw that some others have said that the driver didn't speak English. I would like to highlight that not only did our driver from Nalro Tours speak english but he was also a mechanical engineer and could have a full on discussion on how things work. Although he has never been outside of Sri Lanka he knew loads about other countries (including their politics and culture)

Thanks for organising a wonderful trip which we will remember for years to come. Many many highlights, but for me the climb and view from Sirigiya was high on my favorites, closely followed by the train journey from Kandy and the road journey down from Ella Gap. Carrie enjoyed the same plus all the bird watching.
Our flight back home went without any problems and now sadly back at work in my office !

Dear Chalani We just returned home after spending a lovely time in Sri Lanka and India and wanted to thank you for the organizing the tour for us. Sugath and Dinesh were very good and looked after us really well. We loved Sri Lanka and I have clients who are interested in visiting. These are just a few things I wanted to give my feedback on. I would like to bring a group later in the year for about 8 days. We would like 4 days Ayurvedic treatment and 4 days Ramayan tour with one good tea tasting; including 1 - 2 night stay at Amaya Hills in Kandy and one at the beach resort and one at a better hotel in Nuwarra Elliya (or somewhere else close to the Ramayan sites). Dear Lakshman We traveled with you and your driver through Sri Lanka from December 26th to January 4 this year and we had a great time! We loved Sri Lanka, actually what is not to like! The weather was beautiful, the people are friendly, the food excellent, the nature varies from beautiful beaches, paddy fields, tea plantations and jungle. The only drawback were the roads and the reckless Sri Lankan drivers. But we had an excellent! driver who drove us around safely which is rather a challenge! You proved yourself not only as good and punctual guide, but you looked with great care after our children. With you little magic stone, Tom managed to do the tour without any car sickness and the your magic leaf helped the recovery of his wounds when he had a little accident near the waterfall. You stopped at a real picturesque 'restaurant' where Tom and Lauren ate the best roti ever. You invited us at your home for lunch where we again ate the best roti ever (and best curry and french fries ever by the way). We almost forgot to mention that on New Years Eve you decorated the van with lights and Happy New Year garlands and that you organized a birthday cake for John. Writing all these fantastic memories, we really feel you were not only our guide but you are our friend! John and Bettina

Hi Lakshman, Arrived back in England on schedule on Wednesday evening to very cold weather -2C. Miising the sri Lankan warmth. Many thanks for your help in taking us round for those days. We thoroughlyenjoyed it especially the Yala trip. We should have 2 nights there as it was so good. Anyway next time. You aslked me about our tour company. It is Voyage Jules Verne (VJV) based in London. their address is 21 Dorset Square, London NW1 6QE. They have several phone numbers mainly ones to their sales department trying to sell holidays. However switchboard is 0044-20-7616-1000 and Operations is 0044-20-7616-1060. I am not sure they are the right people to contact as they tend to source the actual holidays from local companies. for instance when we went to Viet Nam they used Asia Travel The local rep who handled the VJV/Kuoni clients is Kaleem who works for Whittall Boustead Travel, 148 Vauxhall Street, Colombo and his mobile is 0777-699140. I think you may have more success trying to make contact at your end than through the London companies. Even this may be difficult as large UK travel companies want excursions for groups of people rather than singles. However it is worth trying to see what opportunities there are. Good Luck I have sent you a copy photo of when we stooped overlooking St Clair & Devon Waterfalls. You might use this from us with the photo attached "We are independent travellers and were looking for a holiday in Sri Lanka to include some of the sights plus a beach rest. Jane found the Nalro website and contacted them by email. They replied promptly and suggested a tour including Anaradhapura, Dambulla, Pollonaruwa, Sigiriya and Kandy ending at Unawatuna Beach on the South coast. We decided to spend a little longer in Kandy and to miss out Pollonaruwa. Lakshman met us at the airport and accompanied us as our driver guide all the way to Unawatuna. He also collected us on our last day and took us to the airport. It was seamless and personal customer service from start to finish and also good value for money. We have recommended Nalro to friends We had a really great holiday and enjoyed every minute. We visited some very interesting places and stayed in some very nice hotels. We particularly like the Tissawewa Rest House in Anaradhapura and the Unawatuna Beach Resort (we have left favourable comments on tripadvisor.com).
